CareSource Home Health and Hospice was started in 1997 by a mother and daughter team in Salt Lake City, Utah. In 2002, CareSource built and opened Utah's first dedicated inpatient hospice facility, The Residence of CareSource.
CareSource has received numerous awards for including multiple Best of State awards for over 10 years in medical services, alternative health care, nursing, health care, and charitable services. In 2013, CareSource was awarded the prestigious Best of State Statue (BOSS).
Over the years, the CareSource Center for Compassionate Care and Campus of Caring provided education to the community including operating a school for Certified Nursing Aide training, working with pharmacy, social work, nursing and medical students from the University of Utah, and nursing students from Westminster College, SLCC, UVU, and Stevens-Henager.
At the end of 2016, CareSource relocated their offices to Park City, Utah. At that time, CareSource allowed another community hospice agency to lease the building from the company CareSource sold it to in 2014 and assume operations of the inpatient hospice facility to ensure that Salt Lake would continue to have access to this much needed service. CareSource continued to provide home care programs, including rehabilitation, supportive and palliative specialty programs, as well as a hospice at home program through the remainder of 2016. Beginning in 2017, CareSource only offered healthcare management and account management services.
CareSource was locally owned operated for over 20 years, but officially discontinued all operations October 2017.
